This choice bulk substrate is composed of five main ingredients including an organic compost specifically designed for mycological use, composted horse manure, organic coconut coir, vermiculite, and gypsum ( also want to add lime, castings ,sol hul and others ) This diverse blend of unique ingredients provides the perfect amount of nutrition for optimal mycelial growth, making it the ideal growing medium for mushroom cultivation.

Our premium mushroom compost comes pre-pasteurized and hydrated to the perfect moisture content, making it ready to use right out of the bag. Simply add colonized grain spawn mix, and add to your fruiting chamber or grow kit. We recommend using two pounds of our grain spawn for every five pounds of compost. 

STRAW

Pasteurized Straw is commonly used to grow oyster mushrooms. It is cheap and effective, albeit a little messy.

HARDWOOD SAWDUST

Hardwoods such as oak, beech and maple make for a great substrate for many types of mushrooms, especially when combined with a bran supplement.

SOY HULLS

Soy hulls can be mixed with hardwood sawdust at different ratios to produce extremely effective and high yielding substrates, particularly for growing oysters.

MANURE

Common button mushrooms are grown on composted manure, specially prepared using a two phase composting and sterilization process.

COCO COIR AND VERMICULITE

Coir is a commercially available mix of ground up coconut husk and shells which can be mixed with vermiculite to create an effective substrate.
